Hawkeye Valley Area Agency on Aging is making Valentine’s Day a little sweeter with a Cookie Exchange and Cookie Contest at the La Porte City Healthy Lifestyles Center on February 14.  
 
If you would like to participate in the Cookie Contest, bring your cookies in before 11:00 a.m.  Celebrity judges will be on hand to pick the best cookie out of all the entrants.  A cookie exchange will take place following a home style meal of beef tips with gravy, whipped au gratin potatoes, French green beans, dinner roll and strawberry shortcake.  The meal will be served at 12:00 noon.

Reservations are required by Monday, February 13.  To make reservations call 319-342-2676.  Bake some cookies, bring your friends and enjoy a delicious meal along with some sweet treats at the La Porte City Healthy Lifestyle Center, 300 First Street in La Porte City.   
 
Meals are offered on a contribution basis for persons over 60 years of age. For those under 60, the actual cost is $6.00.  All meals are prepared by Valley Services and delivered to the nutrition site. Menus are written and approved by a dietician, and nutritional values are posted at the Healthy Lifestyle Center.
